Going to DC for a mother-daughter day and to see Herself (Diana Gabaldon for anyone who's not an Outlander fan) was absolutely amazing! It has got to be one of the best days I've had for a long while. My mom and I had the opportunity to go to the Natural History Museum before going to dinner and getting in line for the talk back and book signing. We met some wonderful people and got to hear Diana's story for how she came to write the wonderful story of the attractive fiery-haired highlander, Jamie Fraser, and his time-traveling and outspoken wife, Claire as well as how she went about getting this wonderful tale published. Meeting Herself was fantastic and she was so gracious. We didn't get to talk to her for long since she still had a lot of books to sign, but from the brief minute we did get to speak with her were unforgettable. She even signed my mom's book with a special Mother's Day note since our day in DC and the event were a present for my mom for Mother's Day.
I'm so thankful for the memories my mom and I were able to make and all of the wonderful pictures we got together. I hope to go back to DC for another fun filled day. Hopefully this time it won't be 100 degrees and we can actually explore the city, museums, and monuments!
To all of the non-Outlander fans out there: If you're looking for a good read that will keep you up at night and provide you with something to widen your mind and show you what love is, then go to your local bookstore and grab a copy of Diana Gabaldon's wonderful book, Outlander!
To all of the wonderful people who have attended one of Herself's book signings for MOBY or any of her other books, I'd love to hear all about it in the comment section below!
I'll post some pictures from the event soon!
