Hey guys! Sorry for not posting any #LRBHelpfultips for the past week or two. My computer is finally up and running again after months of no access to my own personal computer or my writing- at least with ease! I'm oh so thankful to have my computer back and to be able to truly work on my writing again! But due to all of the hassle with my computer, work, and family obligations I haven't had the time to post any writing tips. So now that I have my computer back, look for the writing tips again starting this Friday!
Until then, I hope you all have a wonderful week! Keep on writing, Lindsey

Hey guys!
I have some exciting news! I'm a swim coach and tend to work with some pretty young kids, and while doing so I often have to come up with some creative ways to get the kids to feel comfortable enough to do basic safety skills when they're still terrified to even put their faces in the water. Being a writer, I decided to tell one little girl who wouldn't stop crying a story about the magical rainbow mermaids that lived in the pool and how she would be able to gain their trust, see them, and become an honorary rainbow mermaid by doing the safety skills we had been trying to get her to do for days. This worked miracles with her in that it made her stop crying and start to giggle. She absolutely loved the story! So when I was telling my dad about this and how I had started using it with my other classes, he suggested that I make it into a children's book. So, now I'm taking my dad's advice and starting work on, what I believe, should be an awesome side project and a great children's book that can help kids overcome their fear of the water while also teaching them some fundamental water safety skills. So, please wish me luck as I embark on this new project! I'm looking forward to discovering this new world I am creating, and seeing how it will, hopefully, help children with water safety while being enjoyable to them. Since the ideas won't stop running through my head, I'm off to w Hey everyone!
I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July with your friends and families! I certainly plan to. Be safe and enjoy wearing your red, white, and blue and showing some 'Merica pride! Last night my mom and I enjoyed a lovely fireworks display that our town put on from our front yard. It's one of the wonderful joys of living in small town America. Unfortunately, due to the weather the parade and pool party that had been planned were cancelled. But spending a nice, not so quiet, evening with my mom and watching fireworks from the comfort of our own front yard was what I would call a nice evening. I'm looking forward to seeing some more awesome fireworks displays tonight and spending some time with friends and family. Be safe and show some 'Merica pride y'all! ~Lindsey |
